Change. It’s hard to accept sometimes. This was my grandparent’s retirement home. See previous post 5/29/07, The Floyd and Clarice Morehouse Place. It succumbed to the bulldozer 11/1/07. There was just some smoldering ashes and the stonework left on 11/6 when I revisited. Now all we have are the memories. Which are far better than the eyesore it had become.

When we heard the scanner say there was a controlled burn on Morehouse Road, I had a feeling that was where they were going. Just yesterday, the 9th when you posted the blog, I thought to go to it and see what you had to say. Thank you. Now we don't have to go up there to find out. It is sad but things do change with time.
I'll still remember how comfortable and welcoming Floyd and Clarice's home always was. And the pictures Loren drew on the chalkboard over the kitchen table. The house hadn't been warm and full of (their) life in a long time.
Don't know if I'll be able to walk by it, though, without a pang.
